The original film was set in a dystopian America in which the president presides over an ultraviolent road race from New York to Los Angeles. One of the ways that drivers score points is by mowing down innocent bystanders using their heavily armed cars.

I lol'ed at the first film.

So what are your thoughts on the second one ?

I loved the first movie, at its time It was one of the most violent films I was ever allowed to see and I loved it. LOL

It is very comical I still laugh when I watch it now. (yes I own it. lol)

Even though Hollywood doesnt know how to make anything original anymore, Im still interested in seeing how they update this movie, especially with how brutal todays films are. lol

Ive been seeing trailers for the new movie, they took the "2000" off of the title but the concept is obviously still basically there, although now it appears to take place inside the Prison so its not just prisoners racing, the whole thing takes place within the compound. that kind of narrows down the possibilities. of course this really alters things from the original story, so basically what they did was took the concept, most of the name, and then stole the "Prisoners die for entertainment" idea from other old movies. lol
